Cartoon Love: Slimtime

When I first saw Slimtime in YouTube it's just 56, 000 views shy, but now, phew it's at a whopping 3 million views. I wouldn't be surprised. I love the concept. The idea that women these days all fantasize a slimmer body. The skinny models and celebrities of today still epitomize the trend that real women ought to look like stick figures. The part about the husband being there for his wife, I couldn't help but be reminded of my own. He's always the one to tell me that he doesn't care what I looked like, that I am his FHM model. He's always made me feel beautiful. I told him if he still loves me despite me loosing my old skinny figure, or that I feel ugly nowadays, he'd stop me and say, he doesn't love me despite all of it, he LOVES ME, period! I am the luckiest girl in the world! :)

My Husbands Everyday-Carry

I came across a very addictive website. It's Everyday Carry. It shows what people usually carry around with them, and from what I've observed, a lot of them, carry Swiss Army Knives. What do you carry around? 

Here's a sample of that from their website.

We'll a few things I've learned about the usual every day carry of men who submit to that website are the following. I have given this list to my husband and he seemed keen to get all of those on the list. I wonder what women in our society are pretty much forced to carry around day in and day out.

How to Make Homemade Ice Cream ala Wendy's Frosty!

Well, it's not really ice cream. 

It's more like Wendy's Frosty, but believe me,  it sure does taste like the real thing!

Great thing about this is you get to add just the right amount of sugar. Whatever suits you.

Ingredients: 

Hershey's Chocolate Syrup

Milk

Cream

Sugar

Rock Salt

Lots of Ice (1 bag of ice from 7-Eleven will do)

Utensils:

Large plastic ware

Small sized plastic ware enough to fit inside the large one.

Instructions: 

Put ice at the bottom of the large plastic ware. 

Sprinkle rock salt all over it, not all of it but just half of 1 cup.
Prepare the ice cream.
Squeeze the entire cream pack on the smaller plastic ware.
Pour the milk just the right amount will do.
Add a few tablespoons of sugar and mix in a little chocolate syrup.
You may adjust the sweetness according to your taste, or add in more syrup if you prefer.
I used a hand mixer to mix everything.
The cream is really hard to mix with the milk, you have to mix it real quick and with a bit of pressure.
I suggest you use a mixer or else you may end up with the whole thing splashed all over you. :)

Transfer back the mixed liquid to the small plastic ware.
As you can see, I positioned it already inside the bigger plastic ware as I poured it. Close the lid on it tightly.
Next is to add in more ice and salt.
Get ready to shake your booty.
Shake shake shake. Chill for a sec, the plastic is extremely cold. Relax. Add more ice. Shake shake shake.
5 to 10 minutes of shaking and you'll see the results. If not satisfied or too tired to shake, chill it in the fridge.

Vintage Letterpress

I wish to have my own printing company. I think apart from my love of writing, it also stems from my fascination with all sorts of papers and stamping. Stationery anyone? I recall having a bunch of stationery and keeping them all neat and it has to smell nice also. You do this so you can get to swap with someone else with much better stash and they choose which one of your stock they like and that's how the trade goes. But I never knew then that I would be so intrigued by how stationery companies come up with such lovely prints and designs. That's how I came across letterpress. So that is what they call those vintage printing machines. Trivia regarding old printing, they used to have stacks of letters in capital and in small letters, the capital letters would usually go to the case up top and the small letters would go the the case below. Hence the term, uppercase and lowercase letters :)

But what is Letterpress exactly? For a thorough understanding of what letterpress is and how it evolved to create prints today that has a bit of digital yet show a touch of the classic printing, go here.

Seeing all these vintage letterpress really takes me back. I still dream of owning one. It's classic.

Notice the details in classic letterpress printing. There is a 3D quality to it that always stands out to the modern type. The natural embossed feel of the letters and the vintage touch of typography used. The fact that it's a very meticulous process, patience is key to being a master of creating these prints. It's all but a labor of love. It's incomparable to modern printing.

Operation Clean House

We have accumulated a lot of stuff over the years. As you can see, it's already occupied an entire room full of it. I have all these books that have gathered dust. Collection of magazines I am not willing to throw. An increasing number of coffee table books and so many other junk, I can't even tell if I should be keeping or not. Hence the dilemma. I am constantly trying to find inspiration in Pinterest, and they have all these ideas in organizing things and whatnot. I am eagerly trying to find a number of ways to go about throwing stuff but something tells me that I may be able to use them someday. But when? I know that an item becomes vintage when it is already 10 years old. Am I gearing towards opening a vintage shop one day? I haven't got a clue. If you have pieces of advice that would help out a hoarder like me. Please do share them here. Thank you!

My Daily Morning Yoga Sequence

I don't really want to get thin, instead I want to get fit. Knowing that in a few more years, my body, along with my mind will slowly deteriorate. As I bore witness with the current situation my mother and father in-law is in (they both have suffered a stroke and has since shown signs of dementia). Not to get further into these glum details, I resort to staying positive and keeping my spirits up all the time. Thus my inner calm have found their peace in Yoga. I have been trying my luck at these and seeing this easy to follow routine (just 10-15 minutes tops), who wouldn't want to try? I dare you to try these Yoga Sequence at home, tell me how it goes.

Recipe: Tofu Binagoongan

I am craving for Binagoongan but I have no meat in the fridge. I have tofu though. 

So I came up with an easy recipe for a Binagoongan dish with a veggie twist.

Ingredients:

• Garlic Diced
• Onion Diced
• Eggplant Diced
• Tofu
• Water
• Pepper

Instructions:

• Cook tofu.
• Slice tofu.
• Saute' onion and garlic.
• Add eggplant, bagoong and tofu.
• Add a little water. Simmer for a few minutes.
• Add a bit of pepper.
• Serve with rice.
